PUBLIC HEARING

6.1

FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN

 
Comments:

The City Council will conduct a public hearing for citizens input on the adoption of the City's Annual Action Plan for the Fiscal Year period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. The City anticipates having $1,083,091 of CDBG funds available to allocate and $2,002,021 in HOME funds available to allocate for the 2023-24 year. (CD)


Recommendation:

It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:

  1. Conduct a public hearing and take public testimony on the Annual Action Plan covering the period July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024.
  2. Approve the CDBG and HOME funding recommendations, authorizing the submittal of the City’s FY 2023-24 Annual Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
  3. Authorize the City Manager to execute all appropriate and necessary documents to receive funding and implement approved use.
  4. Approve the CDBG amount of $411,900 to be allocated for the City’s CIP Public Facilities and Infrastructures (Street Improvement Project).
  5. Award the following public service agencies city CDBG funds and authorize the City Manager to execute agreements:
    • Code Enforcement - $195,633
    • City of Lynwood – Afterschool Program - $46,000
    • City of Lynwood – Senior Program - $35,000
    • City of Lynwood – Sports Program - $8,000
    • HOPICS - $20,000
    • Lynwood Athletics Community Services - $10,000
    • The Harmony Project - $10,000
    • LSA Marlins Swim Team - $10,000
    • Budding Artists - $8,000
    • Fair Housing Foundation- $13,000 (funded from the Administration allocation)
